Armada Contracting Rebuilding Tips In order to make the renovation process as smooth as possible Armada Contracting advises all homeowners to do the following: o Make a "Wish list" of all plumbing and electrical fixtures that you would want in your newly renovated house. Be sure to include inventory numbers and prices, and don't forget your appliances. Also, find out if any specific items you want will have to be special ordered. o Come up with a basic idea of how you would like your new kitchen to look. i.e. wood stains, countertops, etc. o Decide what framing changes you want to make in your house. Do you want to make any rooms bigger, or smaller? Would you want vaulted, or trey ceilings in any rooms, or maybe a simple archway? o Decide on the tile, flooring, or carpet you would like for each room and how much you would like to spend on materials. o If you had gas service in the past, do you want gas service again? Reestablishing gas service can add an additional $900 to $1,600 to a renovation project. o Inquire with your mortgage company about their draw procedures because some institutions require a contractor to wait for periods of up to a week or more for draw payments. Your project will be on hold during this time. If you would perfer not to have these production delays then consider switching financing to a local bank that has faster draw procedures. These are all important steps that a homeowner must take before a home is renovated, by taking these steps now your renovation project will be easier and smoother for both yourself and your contractor.
